Aletheia
A free, local memory and rules hub for AI coding tools.
Install
npm install -g aletheia-memAletheia (npm package aletheia-mem) keeps what your AI coding tools learn in one SQLite file on your machine. Hooks in each tool capture sessions, secrets are redacted before anything is stored, and the next session gets the relevant context back. Any tool can read the same store over MCP, REST or a command line.
What it does
- Memory: observations, summaries, notes and facts with full-text search (SQLite FTS5) and optional local embeddings.
- Rules, written once: one rule set synced into
CLAUDE.md,AGENTS.md,GEMINI.md, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot and Aider files, inside a managed block so your own text is left alone. - Tool-neutral: MCP over stdio and HTTP, a REST API and a CLI.
- Easy to leave: export a bundle or Markdown; import from claude-mem, read-only.
Status and proof
Alpha. Hooks have run in real sessions of Claude Code (two days of use), Command Code (one short session) and Codex CLI (one interactive session), one user on one machine. Cursor, Gemini CLI and Windsurf are config written from docs, not tested on a real install. Answer accuracy is not measured; the benchmarks are retrieval only and reproducible with commands in the repository.
