MCP (Model Context Protocol)
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems.
What it connects
The project says AI applications such as Claude or ChatGPT can connect to data sources (for example local files and databases), tools (for example search engines and calculators) and workflows (for example specialised prompts).
MCP in my projects
Loupe's MCP server (@loupekit/mcp) hands comments pinned on a live page to Claude Code.
Aletheia exposes its memory over MCP, REST and a command line.
Questions and answers
- What is an MCP server?
